An Ode To Labor Day

An Ode To Labor Day

Thick fog,
oily glass,
the gloom in June of summers past.
Seaside sideshows
and sandy pyres;
sunburnt kisses
from loving liars.
Boardwalk bros,
contest pros,
record highs and tropical lows.
They all go home when September’s begun;
so the ghosts of summer
can have their fun.
